What scores and outlooks are

Every user sees the same scores and data for a company. They are computed by fixed, versioned formulas on a regular schedule, not written for any one person, then compared across the universe of companies scored in the same run. They describe how a company’s reported data and price history compare with others at a point in time.

Company pages also show an outlook. Its rating (Buy, Hold, Sell or Avoid) is a fixed-cutoff rank of the company on one published price signal over 126 trading sessions, the same cutoffs for every company. Its range is a statistical estimate of where the price may be in 21 trading sessions, with the calibration it was measured at and its past ranges shown next to it. Both are computed from past data. Neither is advice for you, a recommendation to buy or sell, or a promise about future prices: a price can land outside its range, and a rating can be wrong.
